七月，是二十四節氣中的「小暑」與「大暑」，也是一年中最熱的時節。
在這段燠熱的夏日裡，台中人有自己的消暑秘方——一杯傳承記憶的涼茶。
In July, as we step into the solar terms of Minor Heat and Major Heat, Taichung enters its hottest season. But locals have their own remedy — a cup of herbal tea filled with summer memories.
這個七月，旅巷邀請你透過味蕾認識在地文化，喝進老台中的夏日風景。

July 12 (Sat) – A Stroll Through Historic Qingcao Street – Herbal Tea Tasting
你知道中區有一條最神秘的巷弄嗎？就在東協廣場旁，有一條老台中人熟悉的——
青草巷。
早年綠川路上聚集了許多草藥攤販，直到 1970 年代政府取締流動攤販，商家陸續開設店面，青草巷才逐漸有了今日模樣。
這次旅巷小管家要帶大家認識的，是傳承三代、超過 80 年歷史的老店：
「蕭涼心百草店」（原蕭百草）。
早期以販售新鮮青草與藥材為主，1980 年代泡沫紅茶興起後，他們順勢推出冰涼青草茶，成功轉型，至今仍是許多老台中人心中的解渴首選。
Did you know there’s a mysterious little alley in Taichung’s Central District?
Right next to ASEAN Square lies a place longtime locals know well — Qingcao Alley (Herbal Alley).
Back in the day, the streets along Lvchuan Road were lined with herbal vendors selling remedies from roadside stalls.
In the 1970s, when the government began regulating street vendors, many of these herbalists opened storefronts, giving Qingcao Alley its distinctive look we see today.
This time, our Host at Loosha invites you to discover one of the most time-honored shops in the area:
“Xiao Liang Xin Herbal Shop” (originally Xiao Baicao), a family-run business with over 80 years of history.
Originally known for selling fresh herbs and traditional medicinal ingredients, the shop adapted in the 1980s during the bubble tea boom by launching its own version of cool, refreshing herbal tea.
To this day, it remains a beloved summer go-to for many Taichung locals seeking a healthy and thirst-quenching drink.

July 26 (Sat) – A Classic Taichung Summer Drink: Luo’s Qiushui Tea
說到台中滋味，就不能不提 羅氏秋水茶。你可能會在加油站旁邊看到一個白鐵冷藏冰箱有斑駁的羅氏秋水茶商標又或者在雜貨店看到經典的包裝在冰箱內。
創立於 1945 年，由羅漢平先生將祖傳配方結合台灣高山烏龍茶，調製出屬性溫和、風味獨特的涼茶。
第三代經營者羅孟芷述說爺爺賣茶理念：「五○年代左右，臺灣多數都還是藍領工作者，他想要讓這些曝晒在大太陽下做工的人」
羅氏秋水茶 與一般市售涼茶不同，原料包括苦瓜、薄荷、仙草、山楂與陳皮，再融合南投高山烏龍，層次豐富又順口，至今已熱賣超過七十年。
When it comes to the taste of Taichung, Luo’s Qiushui Tea is a name that can’t be left out.
You might spot one of their signature stainless steel fridges—weathered and bearing the Luo’s Qiushui Tea logo—tucked beside a gas station, or find their classic packaging in the refrigerator of a local grocery store.
Founded in 1945 by Mr. Luo Han-Ping, the brand blends a traditional family recipe with high-mountain oolong tea from Taiwan, creating a herbal tea that is both mild in nature and rich in flavor.
According to the third-generation owner, Luo Meng-Chih, her grandfather’s original vision was simple:
“Back in the 1950s, most people in Taiwan were blue-collar workers. He wanted to offer a drink that could cool them down and take care of their health after working under the hot sun.”
Unlike most commercial herbal teas, Luo’s Qiushui Tea features a unique combination of ingredients including bitter melon, mint, mesona (grass jelly), hawthorn, and dried tangerine peel, all delicately balanced with fragrant oolong from Nantou.
This carefully crafted blend has been loved for over 70 years, offering a refreshing yet nourishing taste of old Taichung.
